Avicenna je platforma pro vyhledávání vhodných klinických studií, která má lékařům pomoci najít pro jejich pacienty vhodné výzkumné příležitosti. Shromažďuje informace o klinických studiích na jednom místě, čímž usnadňuje vyhledávání studií na základě potřeb pacientů a kritérií pro zařazení do studie. Avicenna využívá technologii InterSystems k podpoře procesu přiřazování s cílem umožnit užitečné přiřazení a zároveň minimalizovat nutnost přenosu důvěrných informací o pacientech mimo nemocniční systémy.
Zjednodušením vyhledávání studií si Avicenna klade za cíl zkrátit čas a snížit úsilí potřebné k nalezení relevantních studií, podpořit informovanější diskuse mezi lékaři a pacienty a pomoci vhodným pacientům získat přístup k potenciálním výzkumným příležitostem.

- We came with the Avicenna concept and an initial prototype of a clinical-trial matching website. Our starting point included the platform structure, the idea of bringing trial information from multiple locations into one place, and the use of InterSystems technology to support the matching process. During the hackathon, we developed the prototype further and prepared a demonstration of the user journey.

- Avicenna uses AI-supported matching to help identify clinical trials that may be relevant to a patient's needs and eligibility criteria. Instead of requiring doctors to search through large amounts of trial information manually, the platform aims to make trial discovery faster and more structured. InterSystems technology supports the matching approach. Our goal is to make this process useful for healthcare professionals while minimizing the need to move confidential patient data outside hospital systems. Final eligibility decisions remain with qualified healthcare professionals.

- Finding a suitable clinical trial can be time-consuming, especially when relevant studies are spread across different databases, hospitals, and countries. Avicenna aims to simplify this process by helping doctors discover potentially relevant trials in one place. This could reduce manual searching, improve awareness of research opportunities, and help patients and their families discuss additional options with their healthcare teams. By connecting trial information across the Czech Republic, Europe, and beyond, Avicenna has the potential to make clinical research more accessible and support better-informed decisions about patient care.
